Originally from Fort McMurray, Alberta, Shawn first came to Calgary in 1991 after earning a spot on the Mount Royal College Cougars Hockey Team—and he’s called the city home ever since. After graduating with a diploma in Business and Marketing, Shawn held a variety of roles in retail and professional sales before finding the career that truly captured his passion: policing.
Beginning in 1997, Shawn served with the Calgary Police Service for 27 years, spending nearly half of that time as a Detective. His extensive education, training, and real-world experience have equipped him with a unique blend of analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills that now serve him exceptionally well in his career as a REALTOR® with Charles Real Estate.
Shawn’s background in Conflict Resolution makes him a strong and strategic advocate for his clients in any negotiation or mediation setting. Having personally bought and sold several homes in Calgary, he understands firsthand the many considerations—and stresses—that come with real estate transactions. Known for his thoughtful approach, Shawn asks the right questions and listens carefully to truly understand his clients’ needs and goals.

Outside of real estate, Shawn is an avid outdoorsman who takes full advantage of Calgary’s proximity to the mountains—hiking, biking, skiing, or exploring on his motorcycle whenever he can. He’s also a passionate watch enthusiast who can happily talk timepieces with fellow collectors and aficionados.
